The Vertigo, Tinnitus and Pain Unit at Ystad Hospital was developed during the 1990s as a part of the Hospital Dental Care.

Since Dr Assar Bjorne deceased in the summer 2007, the VTP-clinic has been reorganised as a separate organisation with Anne Brodén (dentist) and Anna-Lena Lindblad (stressmanager) in charge. Treatment of somatic tinnitus, vertigo and pain in the successful holistic approach developed and avaluated by Dr Bjorne, is in Sweden still performed by the VTP-clinic exclusively.
